Wednesday Mornings - Track Workout

Boyd Anderson High School Track, 6:00 a.m.

Track workouts are coached by Robert Hendrick. Boyd Anderson High School is just South Of Commercial Blvd. and NW 31st Street. It is East of I-95 & West of the FL Turnpike. For directions go to www.mapquest.com

Train with club members and improve speed. Top-notch rubberized track - $5 fee for use.

The Greater Fort Lauderdale Road Runners and Running Wild have teamed up to provide a Saturday Morning Fun Run/Walk and Marathon and Half Marathon Training for those who can't make the Sunday runs at Deerfield Beach.

Sunday Mornings - Training Run
Deerfield Beach Pavilion - 6:00 a.m.
Join Coach Robert Hendrick and Assistant Coaches Tom Kasprik. The run starts on A1A 1/4 mile north of Hillsboro Blvd. The pavilion/parking lots is 300 feet north of the Pier on A1A.

Voted "Best Ocean Training Run" in South Florida.

Team Fort Lauderdale - Training Membership

Training for a 5K, 10K, Half or Full Marathon

The GFLRRC offers marathon training to all members. The training program will help prepare you for the full and half marathon distances and is a great way to get involved with the club.
  • The program is led by RRCA Certified Coach Howard Elakman who specializes in training for long distances
  • Can be geared towards any marathon with special emphasis on local marathons, such as the Miami Tropical, Disney and Hops
  • Provides individualized training schedules for runners and walkers of all levels
  • Meets every Sunday for long runs at the Deerfield Beach Pier. Starting times vary depending on the length of the run and the time of year
  • Participants generally join the Thursday night fun runs at the Running Wild Store
  • Cost $50.00 for the 1st Year & $25.00 Every year after that. 
  • Fee includes:
    • Training Manual
    • Team Ft. Lauderdale Training T-Shirt
    • Team Ft. Lauderdale Race Singlet
  • To Register online for Team Fort Lauderdale Training Membership

Saturday/Sunday Training Courses

Circuit : 6 Miles

Parking : Running Wild 

Start and Finish  at :NE 13Th St. and Federal HWY Go to Sunrise Blvd. turn East and set course to the beach. Turn South on A1A ( North Atlantic Blvd ). Turn West on Las Olas Blvd till N Victoria Park Rd. Turn East at NE 7 Th. St. and follow North 20Th Ave.
Return to Finish line.

Circuit : 7 Miles

Start and Finish at :  NE 13Th St. and Federal HWY Go to Sunrise Blvd. Turn North on Bayview Dr. Turn East on Oakland Park Blvd ( NE 31 St. )Cross over A1A and turn south on North Atlantic Blvd. Pass behind the Hotel, on walk wooden board. Go South on the A1A and turn West on Sunrise Blvd. Return to Finish line.

 

Circuit South 10 Miles ;

Start and Finish at :  NE 13Th St. and Federal HWY, Go to Sunrise Blvd. turn East and set course to the beach. Turn South on A1A ( North Atlantic Blvd ). Go to 17TH  St. Bridge. West on 17 th St. and turn North in Cordoba St. Turn right along the cemetery and turn North on SE 9Th Ave. At the end turn right along the New river, go over the bridge of East Ave. Right on Las Olas Blvd and return by Victoria Park Blvd.

Circuit North 10 Miles
