Over the years, I have featured many photos in my Presidents message of myself, my family, close friends and club events. Last month, I shared a photo of my new Grandson Kristian. I will be continuing this with some themed photo’s of Kristian each month so that you can all share in my joy of being a Grandparent. I hope you enjoy each months photo as much as I will have taking them and the great joy of this new chapter of my life.

With the beginning of October, we begin to feel the change in the weather and start to look forward to the cooler training temperatures. Our A1A Marathon 15K / 30K Training on October 16th in Deerfield once again. This will be our official start of our training for the A1A Marathon and Half Marathon. Many runners and walkers use this training run / walk as a DRESS REHEARSAL for their upcoming marathon / half marathon. So why not talk it over with your training buddies and bring them out for a nice morning long run / walk with Gatorade on the course every two miles. More on this event in next month’s issue.
GFLRRC’s first race of the 2011 / 2012 racing season will be our Spooktacular 5K on October 29th at Ty Park in Hollywood. This is a great family event with many runners and walkers dressing up in their Halloween costumes … we also have a costume contest and Kids Fun Run / Walk as well.
