As winter marathon season comes to an end, I look forward to the spring and summer races and events that GFLRRC is involved in. It has been very busy for the last few months and I want to thank my husband Bob because without him I could not accomplish all that the club does. April 4th Bob and I are celebrating our 19th Anniversary, we met through running… we are a team and together share our passion for running and walking. We love this club so much and feel so fortunate to have made many friends through the club. Thank you to all who help us continue on…
As we write this month’s message (we also do this together), we have just finished our Saint Patrick’s 4 Miler. The weather could not of been better with over 350 participants. A great group of volunteers came out and made the event perfect. Tradewinds Park had finished most of the new baseball fields so that allowed us to return to our old course. Thanks to all again for coming out, we had a blast.
Our Three For The Road Series wrapped up at the Saint Patrick’s 4 Miler. After finishing all three races the series participants received their gift cards from Starbucks, Chuck’s Steak House, California Pizza Kitchen, Smoothie King and Running Wild along with their Series medals. Thanks to our Series sponsors for their support and help making the Series a success. Check our web site for results and photos.
April 3rd the club will be supporting the Inaugural Runner’s Depot Vista View 360. This event is from 6 AM to noon, if you would like to be on our team or volunteer at our aid station, please contact me and join in the fun.
April 9th many of our club members (that were lucky enough to get into the 7 Mile Bridge Run) will be participating. We will be heading down on Friday morning and camping at Knights Key. We may be heading down to Key West on Saturday event too. Contact me if you would like to meet up along the way I will have plenty of grass skirts to go around. Ha Ha
Set your May calendar for the Run For The Roses 5K on May 7th and our Training Seminar on May 22nd. See ads in this issue, we will have more information on both events next month. Keep Running For Run,
Cynthia
