It will go out to approximately 4000 people. The names are generated from the E-News mailing list. The results will be shared with the board at next month’s board meeting. The responses will help the board to make improvements to our club. The next E-news will go out on September 27, 2010 to promote in store registration for the A1A Training Run on October 2, 2010. Thank you Jon for the great job that you do with the E-News.

We have exceeded the number of signatures that were needed to submit it to the president for inclusion in the newsletter prior to the vote at the upcoming annual meeting. The vote on the By-Laws and Constitution, as well as the election of officers, will be held following the Thursday night Fun Run on November 18, 2010.
Kick-off 5K: Bob Barnard The event was a success. Approximately 400 runners participated in the event. We may have made a slight profit at this race. More information will follow.
Fall Fling: Bob Barnard Bob Schnell did a wonderful job photographing the event. 245 entrants participated in the race. This was the first race in which we used the new scoring company, AccuChip Timing. Everything went smoothly. The new course was well-received. It was suggested to widen and lengthen the finish line next year because many early finishers were actually standing on the finish line as slower racers finished their race.
Sneaker Strut: Cynthia Barnard Inclement weather affected the turnout. There were about 40 people in attendance. We are very thankful for the support the Coconut Creek Starbucks store has given to the club.
A1A 15K/30K – Bob We are in the process of getting the race approved. There is a new contact person with whom we are working this year. It will be necessary for us to have police at this event this year. The application will be available on September 10, 2010. Shirts will be provided by the A1A Marathon.
Spooktacular – Bob The race is ready to go and will be staged at TY Park in Hollywood. The application will be out next week. Cynthia is in the process of ordering awards.
Singlet Sponsor/Starbucks – Bob There has been no decision made to date about the new volunteer shirts for the A1A training run. We are still working with Renee Grant, at Runner’s Depot, concerning the order.
Social Networking/Media: Membership on our Facebook page is successful. 132 people are now friends of our page. People like our wall posts and visit our site. The number is growing each week.
Jingle Bell Jog – Bob Total operation of the race has been offered to GFLRRC by the current sponsor, Broward Health Foundation, with the stipulation that a portion of the proceeds be given back to the Broward Health Foundation. The BHF also maintains the option to retake control of the race in 2011. A motion was made and seconded to accept operation of the Jingle Bell Jog as a GFLRRC sponsored timed run. The motion carried unanimously.
New racks for the warehouse – We are in need of replacing the plastic shelves in the club’s warehouse storage unit. It was suggested to purchase metal shelving. The approximate cost will be $500.00. A motion was made and seconded to allocate $500.00 to purchase the shelving. It was approved by a unanimous vote.
Future Events Applications Board members were encouraged to take applications to any upcoming race venue which they plan to attend.
Meeting adjourned The meeting was adjourned at 10:30 PM.
